The album "Tattoo You" by the Rolling Stones was released in August 1981 and is mostly made up of unused recordings from the 1970s. One of the band's most popular songs, "Start Me Up", is included on the album.
Due to touring and conflicts within the band, it was difficult for them to arrange dedicated recording sessions for the album. The band's production team went through old recordings and finished them in the studio throughout 1980 and 1981.
The album was a commercial and critical success, reaching the top of the US Billboard 200 and it was the final Rolling Stones album to reach the top position of the US charts.
A remastered 40th-anniversary edition of the album was released in October 2021, featuring previously unreleased tracks and a concert at Wembley Stadium.
