"Heartthrob" also became their first album to chart in New Zealand, the UK, and Ireland. Tegan and Sara started working on their seventh studio album in November 2011, with the hope of being in the studio by early 2012. According to Tegan, they were exploring different types of songs and meeting with various producers to challenge themselves creatively and add a new element of awesomeness to their music.
