Although it is also referred to as "Raping a Slave" and "I Crawled", the band officially calls it "Young God". The EP is known for its brutal sound, similar to Swans' first two albums, and is considered more experimental.
The title track, "Young God", is from the perspective of the infamous serial killer Ed Gein. The use of a chain and metal table in the percussion section led critics to categorize the album as industrial and experimental music. The EP sold around 1,000 copies in its first year and became K.422's highest-selling record. The entirety of the EP was later released as bonus tracks to the compact disc edition of the Cop LP in 1992. ** Kurt Cobain** included it in his "50 Favorite Albums" list, and The Young Gods band took their name from this EP. Justin Broadrick of Godflesh cited "Young God" as a key inspiration for his music due to its minimalist and primal approach.
