The Los Angeles-based band Lavender Diamond released their second full-length album, titled "Incorruptible Heart", in September 2012 in vinyl LP, compact disc, and digital download formats. The album received generally positive reviews from critics, with Metacritic assigning it a score of 76% based on eight reviews.
The album was produced by Damian Kulash of the band OK Go, who also provided backing vocals on one track. The vocalist, Becky Stark, gave her own interpretation of the album's title, which she believed meant "non-heartbreak-able heart". The album features a brighter and more sophisticated sound than the band's earlier work, according to All Music, which gave it a score of 8 out of 10.
The LA Times praised Stark's ability to create such a brilliant album while also working on other projects, and Pitchfork noted that she continued to explore the theme of love in a more colorful and spacey way.
The band also released a music video for the album's lead track, "Everybody's Heart's Breaking Now", which was directed by Maximilla Lukacs and features images of Stark spinning through space. Limited edition copies of the vinyl LP were released on lavender vinyl, with some packaged in a tote bag featuring an original drawing by the band's drummer and artist, Ron Regé Jr.
