Caroline Polachek

Caroline Polachek, an American singer-songwriter and producer, released her fourth studio album, "Desire, I Want to Turn Into You", on February 14, 2023. The album is her second under her given name and was released through Sony Music, The Orchard, and Caroline Polachek,'s own label, Perpetual Novice. The album was supported by five singles and features cover art shot by Aidan Zamiri.

Caroline Polachek, began work on "Desire, I Want to Turn Into You" with collaborator Danny L Harle in London after her Pang tour was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. She continued work on the album until mid-2021, when she relocated briefly to Barcelona with Harle and new collaborator Sega Bodega. In November 2021, Caroline Polachek, was featured on Charli XCX's "New Shapes" and went on tour with French musician Oklou for the remainder of 2021. She also performed at many festivals and was a supporting act for Dua Lipa on the North American and Canadian legs of the Future Nostalgia Tour from February to July 2022.

"Desire, I Want to Turn Into You" has been described as an art pop, alternative pop, and new-age record, with elements of electronic, rock, and trip-hop. The album features bagpipes, children's choirs, Spanish guitar, and various beats, including Ray of Light-style trip-hop, dembow, Celtic folk, and early '00s-style radio pop. Caroline Polachek has described it as a maximalist album, and critics have praised its eclectic, elaborate, and humorous sound.
